The North Shore

The north shore consists of the four major areas: Kilauea, Princeville, Hanalei, and Haena, distinct in their character yet equal in beauty.At the end of a narrow one way bridge you'll enter the small laid back town of Hanalei, Hawaiian for lei making. Endless summers and warm starry nights keep watch over Hanalei's iconic crescent beach. Of the total 68,000 residents in Kauai, the community of Hanalei only holds a population of 462 according to the 2015 census making Hanalei perfect for those with a sense of adventure looking to get away. Traditionally ancient Hawaiians utilized Hanalei's lush valley as a food source for the island. Today Hanalei still holds a great respect for the (aina) or land. Hanalei offers numerous farmers markets throughout the week with a wide variety of organic fruits and vegetables sustainably grown on Kauai's north shore.
